Walk-a-Thon and Free Family BBQ Special Announcement

Walk-a-Thon

Walk-a-Thon pledges are due on Thursday, September 27th. This is only two days away. As of 3:00 p.m. today, South students have raised $3,200.00.  This is well below our goal of $20,000.00 and even below what we raised last year ($14,000.00).   Please take a few minutes to review our proposed budget (Voting to approve the budget will take place at the October PTC meeting) to see how we use this money throughout the school year.

Free Family BBQ

The PTC is looking for additional volunteers to work a one hour shift during the Free Family BBQ this Friday.  Shifts are available from 4:30 to 5:30, 5:30 to 6:30 and 6:30 to 7:30.  So far, we have over 450 RSVPs and are looking forward to great turnout and evening. If you are able to help, please e-mail kristygibney@yahoo.com.  Any help is greatly appreciated. Currently some volunteers are working two shifts and we would like it if every volunteer was only needed for one hour.

Weekly Update for September 24-28

General Notes

South PTC participates in several money making programs. More information can be found below or under the Money Makers Page on the blog.

1.        Family Fare Cash for Class is happening this week. South is participating in the D&W Fresh Market and Family Fare Cash for Class Program to earn money for our school. Purchases you make between September 23 – September 29 with your ‘yes’ card will automatically be credited to our school account. In order for your purchases to count, you must first link your ‘yes’ card to our school’s Cash for Class Code (South Elementary’s Cash for Class Code is 75045). As a ‘yes’ cardholder, please go to http://www.myrewards.com to link your card. The schools you selected last year have been removed from your card – you will need to link your school of choice to your card again. You only have to link your yes card once each school year and you will not have to remember to tell the cashier during the event weeks – once you link your card – it will automatically calculate the donation for the school chosen.
