Monday, January 26th

Penny Wars are back and start today.  The goal is to be the class that collects the most pennies. CATCH:  silver coins and paper money cancel pennies.  Each penny is worth 1 point, while silver coins and paper money are negative points.  EXAMPLE: 15 pennies plus 1 dime equals 5 points. Money will be collected and counted each day.  The daily classroom winner will receive a prize and will display the Penny Wars Top Dawg banner for that day. At the end of the Penny Wars (Friday, January 30th), two overall classroom winners will be announced (Y5s -3rd grade and 4th-6th plus ASD).  The overall winning classrooms will receive a cotton candy party and get to vote on a reward activity for the entire school.  Money raised during the Penny Wars will fund the reward activity.  IMPORTANT: Paper money must be rolled up and rubber banded before being placed in the collection jars.  Unrolled/unbanded money is very difficult to remove from the collection jars and will not be counted towards the classrooms’ daily totals.
