  • It has been suggested that the PTC consider the use of the Scrip Program as a way to earn money for our school. The Scrip program would allow South PTC to purchase gift     certificates, “or scrips,” from popular retailers at a discount. Parents then buy the gift certificates from the PTC at face value. The difference in price is kept by the PTC. Parents spend the “scrip” at the retailer, where it’s worth the full face value.  A Volunteer is needed to investigate the enrollment process and take action. Volunteers would also be responsible for creating communications to parents regarding the program and would be responsible for maintaining the “scrips” available for purchase. If you are interested, please sign up here: Scrip Program Volunteer
  • Volunteers are needed each week for Copy Crew.  Volunteers will make copies, laminate, or do other office activities for teachers and staff.  If you are able to help, please sign up at Copy Crew.  The time commitment each day will vary from 15 minutes to 2 hours depending on the needs of teachers and staff.
  • Due to construction, the South Library will be closing May 1st. In order to get the space ready for construction, the books must be boxed and the wall shelves covered.  If you are able to assist, please sign up here: Library Volunteer

Kids in Nature Program

Dear Kids In Nature Participants:  Friday appears to be the best week day for most parents and children to hike this spring. Please return your interest sheets by Friday, March 25 if you want to join us! Thank you to those parents who have already expressed a williness to drive and chaperone. Additional drivers and chaperones are still needed, but we have a good start so far! Please contact Amy Gardine with any questions.  219-730-3920

Tonight is the seventh Pizza Hut Night for the 2015/2016 school year.  Please join us at the Grandville Pizza Hut on 28th Street.  Members of the South PTC Board have had multiple discussions with the manager of the Pizza Hut and she has assured us that Pizza Hut will be  appropriately staffed to accommodate our families.   If you have not been to a fundraising night at Pizza Hut for this reason, let’s give Pizza Hut a second chance.  Remember, South PTC receives 20% of sales from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. South PTC can earn a percentage of sales for lunch and late-night dining. A copy of the Pizza Hut flyer came home in your student’s Friday Folder last week and is available here:  Pizza Hut March 2016 Please feel free to makes copies for your non-South friends and neighbors.  Sales can be dine-in, carry-out, or delivery.
