General Notes

The 2016-2017 District Calendar is now available.  Follow the link for more information:  2016-2017 District Calendar  Please note the changes to various breaks, as well as the additional of several student half-days.

The PTC Board for next year is as follows:  Victoria Talsma/Alison Edison: Co-Presidents, Treasurer: Kristy Gibney, Secretary: Kristy Gibney (Meeting minutes and Newsletters), Volunteer Coordinator: Sam Siegert, and Activities Coordinator: Jackie Stone.  Kristy would like to thank both Alison and Jackie for volunteering to assist with the Secretary responsibilities  next year.  Alison has agreed to manage the PTC Facebook Group and Page and Jackie has agreed to manage the PTC Blog.

Monday, April 18

This morning, the 6th Graders will be scheduling classes for 7th Grade.

Tuesday, April 19

The 5th Graders will have MSTEP testing today.

Tonight is Pizza Hut Night .  Please join us at the Grandville Pizza Hut on 28th Street.   Remember, South PTC receives 20% of sales from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. South PTC can earn a percentage of sales for lunch and late-night dining. A copy of the Pizza Hut flyer came home in your student’s Friday Folder last week and is available here:  Pizza Hut April 2016 Please feel free to makes copies for your non-South friends and neighbors.  Sales can be dine-in, carry-out, or delivery.

Thursday, April 21

Today, at 1:00 p.m., auditions will be held for 6th Graders for Middle School Musical Theater. Good luck students.

The 5th Graders will have MSTEP testing today.

Friday, April 22

The 6th Graders will be going to the Middle School from 8:50 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for Middle School Orientation today.

The Second Annual Art & Chocolate Walk is tonight form 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., featuring pieces from students from more than 12 area schools at 20 different downtown venues along with interactive art, art performances and live music. New for this year’s event is featured local artist Robert Shangle, who goes by the name LiveStatue and performs painted in gold as a live statue. Shangle also has been a part of ArtPrize in Grand Rapids.  Art and musical performances are free. A $2 “Slips & Bits” card is required for the chocolate and beverage tasting stations. One card covers one person for all 20 stations.  Cards can be purchased at Grandville City Hall, at 3195 Wilson Ave. SW, or downtown on the evening of the event
