South Elementary PTC News 9.18.16

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend

The turnout for the Tom & Chee fundraiser was amazing!  If you didn’t see the post on our facebook group, it said:  Just wanted to share this email from Rachel Calendo, manager/owner of Tom and Chee:
“Holy moly! South knows how to turn out a crowd! I was blown away by the attendance last night. In the 12+ we have done like this, none had the turn out like last night! Kudos to your community!!! I hope everyone wasn’t too upset about the long line. I tired to moved them through as quick as possible but Kids night always makes the ordering process a little longer. I hope everyone had fun and enjoyed their dinners! ”
Way to go South!!! Next dining fundraiser is Jets Pizza night on Sept. 29th.

And Principal Roberts wanted to pass along his thanks to everyone who made it by the Open house on Thursday evening.  We hope you got a chance to look at all the improvements that were made around the school!.

And the Family BBQ planning is coming along nicely for Friday September 30th from 4:30pm-7pm.  We still need lots of volunteers to help make this event run smoothly.  We appreciate any family members, grandparents or high school and older aged kids who would like to volunteer for a few hours that evening!  Sign up HERE!

Other volunteer opportunities are:

October we have the conference meals. (South families always provide a meal for the teacher’s in the staff lounge on the night of conferences)
Oct 25- Taco Bar
Oct 27- Soup and Salad Bar…/10c0a4aa5a82daaff2-conference1

And then in November, we have Culver’s night. In order to receive a portion of the profits, Culver’s requires that we have volunteers on hand to greet and bus food.

WALK-A-THON!  Our goal is to raise $10,000 and that would require each child to raise $50. We hope each family will participate in the fundraising to the best of their abilities!  PRIZES PRIZES PRIZES!  The top 5 pledge raisers will each receive a $75 gift card.  Each student who raises at least $50 will be entered into a classroom raffle- one winner from each classroom will be chosen and get to pick a random envelope with cash inside ranging from $10-$50!  The classroom that raises the most pledges will win a bowling party!  Right now Mr Karnehm is still in the lead with Mr Bartons class in a close second!  You have until the 29th to send in cash or checks made out to South PTC!

We have lots of fun things planned this year and we appreciate your support!  Have a great week!

  1. I don’t see any Red Robin fundraisers on the calendar. We just got an email from them that there is 10 % back to our school between now and September 25th.

    • Red Robin gives back to schools all year long. If you sign up with the App on your phone and be sure to give your phone number each time you pay, a percentage is donated to the school of your choice. The PTC has not received its first check and I believe the program started last year. Look under the page No-Cost Fundraisers on the blog for more information. A copy of this flyer will also be coming home in Friday Folders soon.
