South PTC News 9.3.17

Hope everyone enjoyed their long holiday weekend!

I can’t believe its Walk-A-Thon week!  Please send in pledges marked with your child’s & their teachers name.  The class with the most pledges will win a bowling party! Every student who bring in a minimum of $50 will be entered into a classroom drawing, The winning student in each classroom will get to pick an envelope containing $10 to $50! And, the top 5 overall school pledge collectors will win a $75 gift card!  Pledges are due on Thursday September 7th for all the contests.  All students will walk on Friday September 8th.  Classroom walking times will be posted on our South Elementary PTC Facebook page (later this week) for parents that wish to join their kids while walking or for parents wishing to help distribute snow cones when kids finish their walk!  We appreciate your support!

Friday night will be our free family BBQ as a thank you for all your donations for the Walk-A-Thon.  All South students and their immediate family and invited back up to the school from 4:30pm-7pm to enjoy bounce houses, a mechanical bull, and each family member will receive one free hot dog, chips and a drink.  Additional hot dogs and food items will be available for purchase.  We need some volunteers to stand at inflatables and make sure we don’t have 50 kids in a bounce house or obstacle at once.  Please sign up HERE if you can help out!   And we will have the ever popular Cash Cube back!  You can buy raffle tickets for $2 each or 3 for $5.  We will draw & announce a name every 15 minutes to go in the cash cube!

I’m very excited to let everyone know that we will be having a “Family & Vendor Sale” event on Saturday October 21st.  This is the same day as the High School event so we hope to draw a large amount of shoppers.  If you sell things from home, you are welcome to buy a booth space.  If you’d like to sell your gently used adult or kids clothing, you are welcome to buy a booth. Please read thru this form and submit your application and payment to reserve your space.  We hope everyone will come to the school to shop and tell all your friends! South Elementary Vendor Show
