Tomorrow is Picture Retake day!  Send your child in with their original picture packet and they will get a retake picture done.

Book Fair also starts this week!  Family Night is Tuesday from 4pm-8pm and there will be games and snacks while you are here to shop.  If youd like to volunteer, theres a few slots left HERE, you ust sign up with Scholastic to log in and sign up for volunteer spots.
There is also a change drive happening to raise money for a school in Texas that lost their library due to Hurricane Harvey.  If the school raises $350, Mr Roberts will dress like Pete The Cat for a day! Students may bring change to their classrooms or pay $1 to dress up in their Western Wear (Cowboys/girls) for their class shopping day. There will also be change jars located near the registers on Family Night.

Wednesday is our Terry Hal Skating party from 6pm-8pm.  $5 Admission. $1 Skate Rental.  The flyer accidentally got missed for Friday folders this week so they will come home with students on Monday or Tuesday.  Bring the flyer with you on Wednesday and enter it to win a free pop!

Friday is Kindergarteners PJ day to celebrate the letter P!

Starting the week of October 16th, we will be collecting your gently used books at drop off in the mornings.  We will keep a record of how many books each student brings in.  Later in the week on Friday October 20th(tentative), we’d like to hold a book exchange where students get to come pick up “new to them” books.  You can send a note if you just want to donate books and your child doesn’t need to pick any “new to them” ones.  We will use any leftovers for our library or classrooms!

Fall conferences will be October 17th & 19th, make sure to send back in your preference sheet to your teachers asap.  Tuesday October 17th is also a Jets Pizza night, so if you’re running to/from conferences, we have an easy dinner solution for you.  Flyers will be coming home this Friday! Meals for teachers will also happen this year for both nights.  Sign up for Tuesday Here, Thursday should be available soon.

Also coming home this Friday is an info sheet on our first Griffins hockey fundraiser night.  We have discounted tickets and South earns a portion of the tickets proceeds back!  There are 5 games this season to choose from!  It’s a win-win!

Saturday October 21st is our first ever Vendor Sale event!  We have over 30 booths now from handmade crafts, boutique clothing, beauty goods, home and health items and gently used kids clothing.  We hope you will come, shop and help spread the word.  A ‘save the date’ flyer is coming home this week.  If you still want to buy a booth space for $15, we will keep accepting vendors as space allows, fill out the form HERE.  We have filled the gym and will have vendors out into the hallways too!  Grandville High School also does their Fall Harvest Festival the same day, so we hope shoppers will come to both sales!  Here is the public event link to Facebook, Please mark as Going or Interested and Share and Invite friends!

Grandville Public Schools sent out an Infinite Campus note that GPS is partnering with Meals on Wheels to collect non-perishable food & personal care items for the month of Ocobter.  Collection bins can be found in each buildings office.  This drive will help benefit the elderly in Kent County. Some suggested items are: low-sodium vegetables, rice, low sugar canned fruit, peanut butter, 100% juice, bagged beans, cereal/oatmeal, soup, personal care items, cleaning supplies, and pet food.

October is National Principals Month!  Have your child make up a homemade note or card about what they like about Principal Roberts and drop it off in the office anytime this month! Theres tons of cute ideas on Pinterest too!

Our new Grandville gear that you may have ordered should be in this week.  I will post when it comes in to arrange pick up or send home with students.
