South PTC Update 1.21.18
Happy Carnival Week! Friday January 26th!
Morning- Kindergarten Winter Celebration! The Kindergarten classrooms will celebrate winter with some fun activities.
It’s a 1/2 Day so dismissal is at 11:36am.
It’s also a Spirit Day- Wear your Favorite Sports Team shirt to school.
SOUTH FAMILY CARNIVAL! The Carnival will take place 4:30pm-8pm. This is our 2nd year putting together this event, so if you came last year, you know we decorate the school, most classrooms have a game or two to play (Buy tickets for the games at the door) and there will be pizza available for purchase in the cafeteria. We work really hard to make this a fun event, but its a huge event, and we need volunteers! If you can give a little of your time while your kids play some games, we would be very grateful! The Sign up link is HERE!
We welcome all volunteers- including Thursday evening 6pm-8pm for some decorating. And Friday 12pm until 9pm. Middle and High Schoolers are also welcome to volunteer!
You can pre-purchase game tickets to save time in line on Friday night. If you don’t have the flyer we sent home, send in an envelope with cash or check to South PTC and note the students name & grade to send the tickets home with. Game tickets are 25 cents each and most games are 2-3 tickets to play.
Food will be sold separately (Cash only the night of the event for games and food)
We are looking for donations of baked goods- cookies or cupcakes on a plate inside a ziploc bag labeled. They can be dropped off at school on Friday morning or afternoon at pickup. We will also take donations of 2 liters, cans of pop, bottles of water, napkins, plates, and suckers!
Other happenings to note:
We had a great PTC Meeting Thursday night, Thank you to those who were able to come out! We did discuss the drop-off/Parking issues with Principal Roberts. Many face the same issue of coming upon people who park in drop off lanes, or cause traffic problems by stopping too early, or not pulling up all the way to allow multiple cars to unload. Signs are coming and a revised letter with instructions will be sent home. Please do your best and respect the others around you. Remember, the safety of the children is the most important thing.
Hearing & Vision Screenings will take place at the school January 31st-February 2nd.
